Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of JuicedResume ("Service"), operated by Harshit Singh (sole proprietor, operating as JuicedResume) ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service description

JuicedResume is a software-as-a-service application that helps you create, score, and tailor resumes. The Service includes a web application, an exportable PDF/LaTeX renderer, an AI-assisted editor, and an MCP server for integration with Claude Code and similar agents.

2. Eligibility & account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• You are responsible for keeping your authentication credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
• One account per natural person. Account sharing is not permitted.

3. Plans, payment & billing

• The Service offers a Free plan (1 resume, limited AI quota) and paid plans (Basic, Pro) with higher limits.
• Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe in USD. Indian customers may be charged via Stripe India in INR equivalents at the prevailing exchange rate.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• Taxes (GST, where applicable) are added at checkout per your billing region.

4. Cancellation & refund policy

This section is incorporated by reference from our Cancellation & Refund Policy. In summary:

• You may cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• First-time subscribers are eligible for a 7-day money-back guarantee.
• Beyond the 7-day window we do not offer prorated refunds for unused portions of the billing period.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, employment history, or skills on resumes generated using the Service.
• Submit content you do not have the right to use (including copyrighted material owned by others).
• Use the Service to generate resumes for third parties as a paid service (a resume-writing agency model) without our written permission.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload our infrastructure.
• Use the AI features to produce content that violates applicable laws or the policies of the underlying AI provider.

5a. Fair Usage Policy

All plans, including Pro, are subject to fair usage limits designed to keep the service performant for everyone. We monitor for anomalous patterns and may rate-limit or, in extreme cases, suspend accounts that:

• Exceed reasonable AI use: more than 1,000 AI calls per day on any plan, or sustained burst rates above 60 calls per minute, will trigger temporary throttling.
• Exceed export volume: more than 100 PDF/LaTeX exports per day per user is considered automated misuse and will be rate-limited.
• Exceed MCP volume: more than 500 MCP-server calls per hour per user.
• Operate multiple accounts to circumvent limits: creating throwaway accounts to bypass plan caps is a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate suspension of all linked accounts.
• Resell or whitelabel: running the Service as the backend for a separate paid product (a resume-writing agency, an AI tool that wraps ours, etc.) without our written permission.
• Automated scraping: using bots or scripts to harvest template content, scoring rubrics, or any other proprietary parts of the Service.

We will notify you in-product and by email before suspending for fair-usage reasons, except in cases of obvious abuse (fraud, scraping, brute-force). Limits may be raised on request for legitimate high-volume users — email support@juicedresume.com with your use case.

6. User content

You retain ownership of the resume content and other text you create using the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not train AI models on Your Content. We do not sell Your Content to third parties.

7. AI features (BYOK)

The Service can route AI requests through your own API keys ("Bring Your Own Key") for Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google. When BYOK is enabled:

• You are responsible for the cost of API usage on your provider account.
• Your API keys are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
• Each AI provider's own terms of service apply to your usage of their models.

8. Intellectual property

The Service (excluding Your Content), including its design, templates, scoring algorithms, and source code, is the property of Harshit Singh (sole proprietor, operating as JuicedResume). You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.

9. Availability & changes

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Material changes to these Terms will be notified by email or in-product banner at least 14 days before they take effect.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) INR 5,000. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, employment outcomes, or interview results.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Harshit Singh (sole proprietor, operating as JuicedResume) from any third-party claim arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from Settings → Profile or by emailing support@juicedresume.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice, depending on severity.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Madhya Pradesh, India. Indian customers retain their rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
